Computer is a very interesting word. Computer has helped us throughout our lives. It has helped us print our saved documents, helped us browse other people's networks (Internet), helped us chat with friends from different networks, helped us reconnect with old friends and relatives via social networking (facebook), helped us send and receive emails and many more.

But, who here can remember the history of handphones, smartphones, laptops, desktops, macbooks and other items of computers? How did everything start? Who created them? Why are we so dependent on computers and why can't we live without computers like the olden era?

The computer did not come from one single, genius person. It came from collaboration of many people. Computer first started in 1936 when the first freely programmable computer was invented. The computer was called the "Z1 Computer", invented by Konrad Zuse.

Then, the ABC computer was came about and was invented by John Atanasoft and Clifford Berry in 1942. This computer was not easy as letters "A, B and C might seem to be. After that, a transistor was invented in 1947-1948 by John Bardeen, Walter Brattain and William Shockley. You must have thought I inserted a wrong info but this transistor then affected the development of computers after that.

Then, in 1951, the UNIVAC computer was invented. UNIVAC was invented by John Presper Eckert and John Mauchly and helped to pick presidential winners at that time and was the 1st commercial computer available.

After that, in 1953, the IBM 701 EDPM computer was invented. The computer was invented by IBM (International Business Machines) and marked the first time IBM invented a computer.

Furthermore, in 1962, the first computer game was invented- Spacewar Computer Game. The computer was invented by Steve Russell & MIT. Then, in 1964, the mouse computer was invented by Douglas Engelbart and it was called "mouse" because a tail came out from one end.

ARPAnet (advanced research projects agency network) then came about in 1969 and was the first of the internet. After that, in 1971, the Intel 4004 Computer Microprocessor was invented and was the first microprocessor invented. WordStar Software was invented in 1979 by Seymour Rubenstein and Rob Barnaby. WordStar was the first word processor invented. Time went on until the Apple Lisa Computer came about in 1983 and was the first computer with GUI (graphical user interface). In 1984, Apple improved Lisa to Apple Macintosh, which was an affordable home computer with GUI. In 1985, Microsoft Windows came about and had since been competing with Apple in producing good and competitive computers.
